Motherhood Wasn't Supposed to Feel Like This
If you're overwhelmed, anxious, or just not feeling like yourself — you're not broken. You're carrying more than anyone should carry alone. Specialized postpartum therapy can help you feel like you again.
This is how it shows up:
You wake up anxious before the baby even cries
You're going through the motions, but you don't feel present
You snap at your partner and then feel guilty about it for hours
You keep thinking 'I should be happier than this'
If this pattern keeps going, nothing changes. But it doesn't have to stay this way.
No prep needed. Just 15 minutes to see if this feels right.

Is This You?
You're not failing. You're navigating one of the biggest transitions of your life. These feelings are real, they're valid, and most importantly — they're treatable.
"I feel anxious all the time, completely unlike myself, and I don't know if I'll ever feel normal again"
"I'm carrying the mental load for everyone — managing everything, remembering everything — and nobody even sees it"
"I feel guilty for not 'loving every moment' like I thought I would, and ashamed that I'm struggling when I should be grateful"
"I have scary thoughts that pop into my head and I don't know if they mean something's wrong with me"
"I don't know if what I'm feeling is just normal new mom stress or if I actually need help"
Motherhood is overwhelming. Our job is to make sure you don't have to carry it alone.
Why Austin Moms Work With Bloom
Perinatal & Postpartum Specialization
This is all we do. We only treat maternal mental health, so you're working with someone who deeply understands pregnancy, postpartum, and the transformation into motherhood — not a generalist who sees you once a month between other patients.
Trauma-Informed, Evidence-Based Care
We use proven therapy approaches like CBT (changing thought patterns), somatic work (calming your nervous system), and trauma-focused techniques — tailored specifically to the unique needs of the postpartum period.
Central Austin Location
Our office is centrally located off MoPac and 2222, with flexible scheduling that actually fits into your life. Choose in-person sessions when you need face-to-face support, or virtual sessions when leaving the house feels impossible.
Partner-Inclusive Support
Your partner can join sessions, and we offer couples therapy designed specifically for navigating the relationship shifts that come with a baby. Many clients do a mix of individual and couples work.
Simple, Supportive, Specialized
How Therapy Works
Have a Conversation
A free 15-minute call to talk about what you're going through. No pressure, no prep — just a chance to see if this feels supportive.
Share Your Story
Your first session is 90 minutes of unhurried space to be heard. We'll talk about what brought you here and what would help most — no judgment, just support.
Start Feeling Like You Again
Weekly sessions with tools you can actually use. In-person or virtual, whatever works for your life right now.
We move at your pace — never overwhelming, always supportive.
Most moms who reach out say they waited longer than they wish they had.
No mystery, no homework you can't do with a baby on your lap
What Postpartum Therapy Actually Involves
If you've never been to therapy, it's hard to picture what happens after the first call. This is what it looks like.
A real assessment, not a checklist
Your first session is 90 minutes because the postpartum period is complicated. We look at mood, sleep, your birth experience, your support at home, and what else might be going on — anxiety, OCD, and rage often travel with depression and are easy to miss.
Approaches that are built for this season
CBT for the thought loops ("I'm failing at this"), interpersonal therapy for the relationship and identity shifts, somatic and mindfulness work for a nervous system that won't settle, and trauma-focused care when birth or the NICU left a mark. We choose based on what you're carrying, not a script.
Weekly 50-minute sessions, in person or on video
After the intake, most clients meet weekly. You'll leave each session with something concrete to try, and we check in regularly on what's helping so the plan can change when your life does.
Skills that outlast the hard part
As things settle, sessions often spread out to every other week, then monthly. The goal isn't just feeling better this month — it's knowing what to do when the next transition hits: returning to work, weaning, a second baby.
Specialized Care for Every Stage
Who We Help
Pregnancy & Prenatal Anxiety/Depression
The worry, the fears about something going wrong, the unexpected grief or disconnection you're feeling even before baby arrives. You're not supposed to just "push through" this alone.
Postpartum Depression, Anxiety, OCD, & Rage
The heaviness that won't lift, the constant worry you can't turn off, the repetitive thoughts that won't stop, the anger that scares you. These are treatable conditions, not character flaws.
Birth Trauma, NICU, & Complicated Pregnancies
When birth didn't go the way you hoped, when your baby spent time in the NICU, when medical complications turned everything upside down. Processing these experiences is necessary, not self-indulgent.
Identity Shifts, Relationship Stress, & Intrusive Thoughts
Wondering who you are now that you're a mom, feeling disconnected from your partner, or experiencing scary intrusive thoughts. Making sense of these changes is part of healing, not something you should ignore.
Both are real therapy. The right one depends on your week.
In Person or Virtual? Here's How Clients Decide
Virtual sessions (anywhere in Texas)
Secure video sessions tend to fit best when:
- Finding childcare for an appointment is its own project
- You're feeding on a schedule that doesn't care about traffic on MoPac
- You live outside the Austin area — or just outside your comfort zone for leaving the house right now
- You want to keep sessions going when a sick kid or a bad night would otherwise mean cancelling
In-person sessions (Central Austin)
Coming to the office tends to fit best when:
- An hour out of the house, with no one needing you, is part of the point
- You think more clearly face to face
- Home doesn't offer much privacy right now
- You're already nearby — our office is off MoPac and 2222
Many clients mix the two. We'll talk through what makes sense for your situation on the first call — and you can change your mind later.
